Welcome to the Hartley Parish Council Website

The Village of Hartley in Kent lies on the northern side of the North Downs between Sevenoaks, Dartford and Gravesend. The northern boundary of the village is the main railway line to London and the southern boundary  is  some 2 miles south to the roundabout at New Ash Green. At its widest it is some 1.5 miles wide (see map). The envelope of the village is offered protection by the Metropolitan Green Belt that surrounds it.

Hartley is home to some 6000 people and is a mixed community which has retained its rural roots.  The village  has two beautiful historic churches one of which originates from the Norman times and the other is one of only a handful of thatched churches in Kent. We also have local shops, a pub, social club and country club as well as many societies and other associations for the young and not so young alike and of course some beautiful countryside.
